March 5, 2011 12:00:00 AM PST
Two high-speed pursuits that both started in Los Angeles County ended in arrests on Friday night.

In the first case, two suspects led police on a chase that began in Highland Park. The pursuit didn't end until the suspects were arrested in Bakersfield more than an hour later.

At one point, police said one of the suspects threw a gun out of the window.

The two were suspected of stealing a car at a gas station where the chase began.

Another chase Friday night began on Interstate 5 in North Hollywood when police were following a DUI suspect in a Dodge pickup truck.

The suspect transitioned to the westbound 118 Freeway, slowed down, crossed the fast lane, stopped and bailed out of the car.

Once the suspect reached the shoulder, officers tackled him and brought him down.

That suspect was taken into custody and booked on several charges.
