Dozens of live, dead birds found in Fillmore cock-fighting bust

FILLMORE, Calif.

The Ventura County Sheriff's Department responded to a horse boarding facility on the 1700 block of Grimes Canyon Road to find a possible cock fight in an open arena at about 10:10 a.m. Deputies found about 15 dead birds and 70 live birds.

The suspects had left just before deputies got there. No arrests have been made.
