When Allison Greene, 31, was battling cancer, she told her friends that when she beat it, she wanted to have a big party with Brad Paisley as the entertainment.
Greene lost her battle. But at a memorial for her at San Antonio Catholic Church in Anaheim Hills on Monday, Paisley showed up to honor her.
"When I was watching the video, through the video, it brought me to tears, and I thought, 'Man, if I could just be there,'" Paisley told those who attended the memorial. "So they said, 'Will you be there, Brad, Monday the 7th in Orange County?' and I thought, yeah. I am going to be there."
Greene's family posted something about the memorial on Facebook, hoping Paisley might see it and show up.
And he did, singing "Celebrity," "She's Everything," "and Then," among others, to honor Greene's life.
Green was the mother of a 3-year-old daughter. She was battling cancer for two years but her husband said she had a zest for life.
"I got a call from Brad Paisley saying he was going to come, because when he saw that video, he was inspired by Allie," said Green's husband, Brian. "It does show how big of a heart he has."
