USC received its largest-ever donation from an alumnus now working in the steel industry.

David Dornsife, the owner of Herrick Corp., and his wife Dana gave the school $200 million. It will go to USC's College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, and there aren't any restrictions on how to spend the money.

The college will be renamed the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences in honor of the couple.

The university also plans to create a Dornsife Scholars Program to recognize graduating seniors "who pursue scholarly inquiry and progress on pressing social challenges for the nation and the world," according to the school.

David Dornsife, 67, graduated from USC in 1965 with a degree in business.
