Former Mouseketeer Annette Funicello's house damaged in fire

Firefighters battled a fire at the house of actress Annette Funicello in Encino on Thursday.

Authorities responded to the 3100 block of North Fond Drive at 7:21 a.m. Smoke could be seen for miles from the blaze.

The 68-year-old former Mouseketeer was one of three people taken to a hospital with possible smoke inhalation. Funicello has reportedly been in declining health with multiple sclerosis.

The fire caused extensive damage to the one-story home. It took firefighters about 25 minutes to knock down the flames.

An estimate of the damage to the approximately 3,600-square-foot home was not immediately available.

Funicello was a Mouseketeer on Disney's "Mickey Mouse Club" in the 1950s.
