One more "American Idol" contestant was eliminated on Thursday during the second results show of the 10th season -- find out who was sent packing and tell us who you think should win the competition. Warning: Spoiler alert!
After being narrowed down to the bottom three of Ashthon Jones, Haley Reinhart and Karen Rodriguez, 30 million Americas voted and Ashthon Jones was eliminated on Thursday night's show. Jones was the wildcard pick from the previous week. The 24-year-old singer was a retail manager from Nashville and performed the Diana Ross song "When You Tell Me That You Love Me" during Wednesday's show.
Jones admitted that she regretted not choosing a more popular song of Ross' to perform. She chose to perform the song again in hopes of nabbing a save from one of the judges but, as judge Jennifer Lopez said, "Not this time, baby, I'm sorry."
The singer was sent packing to "American Idol" season seven winner David Cook's cover of the 1985 hit "Don't You (Forget About Me)" originally by Simple Minds. Cook's cover will be used as the official farewell song for season 10.
It was also revealed on Thursday that contestant Casey Abrams is back in the hospital but no additional details of illness were given. Abrams had a first trip to the hospital right before the semi-finals because of stomach issues.
The live results show featured performances by Adam Lambert and Diddy-Dirty Money with Skylar Grey. Lambert sang an acoustic version of "Aftermath," from his debut album. Following his performance, a dance remix version of the song was made available on Lambert's website, AdamOfficial.com with proceeds going to The Trevor Project, an organization working on preventing suicide among gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender youth.
The 12 finalists that remain with Abrams, Rodriguez and Reinhart include Naima Adedapo, Lauren Alaina, James Durbin, Stefano Langone, Jacob Lusk, Scotty McCreery, Paul McDonald, Thia Megia and Pia Toscano.
