Aretha Franklin says that her slimmer figure is not because she secretly had gastric bypass surgery.

The legendary singer shot down other rumors about her health, including that she was suffering from pancreatic cancer, in an upcoming interview with Access Hollywood, set to air on March 18. See preview below.

"Somewhere I heard somebody thinks I got some bariatric surgery, I think that's it...that is a surgery I would never ever, ever, ever, ever. Believe me."

"I had a cousin who had that surgery," Franklin revealed. "And she did pass too."

The singer says reveals she has lost 85 pounds, gradually. Franklin previously spoke about her weight loss on "The Wendy Williams Show" earlier this month. The singer showcased her weight loss at a taped appearance at the 2011 Grammy Awards in mid-February.

Franklin, who has struggled with her weight for many years, says she now avoids food such as pig feet and anything with hot sauce.

"That's off the menu now," Franklin told Williams. "I've been looking at a lot of pictures, you know, and I was saying, 'You were entirely too fat for words. ' I'm getting close to my

normal weight. I'm only a dress size away. I was doing everything you could do to lose that weight."

"It's hard," she added. "When you love food and when you've done a high-energy concert, a carrot is not going to work. You can't continue eating things that will hurt you eventually."

The singer canceled all concerts and appearances from November through May 2011 by order of her doctors. She underwent surgery on December 2 and said her "problem has been resolved," but did not specify her ailment. Earlier reports said Franklin was suffering from pancreatic cancer. She has not confirmed this.

"I'm feeling wonderful," she told Williams. "I'm feeling great and I couldn't be feeling any better than I am right now."
