Power outage leaves Orange residents in dark

ORANGE, Calif.

A Southern California Edison spokesperson said a faulty underground equipment caused a "circuit lockout" at approximately 10 a.m. The power was restored to all but eight customers at just before 11 a.m.

Power was out in the area west of the 55 Freeway bordered by Chestnut Avenue on the north, Clinton Street on the east, Walnut Avenue on the south and California Street on the west.

Orange police closed Tustin Avenue, north and south of Katella Avenue, but it has since been reopened.

No injuries or accidents were reported in connection with the outage.
