OTRC: 'The Bachelor' renewed, down to final 2 - spoilers

Brad Womack of 'The Bachelor' speaks to ABC in a promotional interview for season 15 of the show, which premieres Jan. 3, 2011.

"The Bachelor" has been renewed for a 16th season, which will air in early 2012, an ABC spokesperson said on Monday, March 14, hours before the finale of the current installment of the hit dating reality show.

On the episode, which airs at 8 p.m. ET, viewers will see Brad Womack having to choose between finalists Emily Maynard and Chantal O'Brien. (See spoilers below)

"The Bachelorette," the show's spin-off show that features a main female contestant, has been granted a seventh season, which will air on May 23, while "Bachelor Pad," a hybrid of the two programs, was given a second.

The star of "The Bachelorette" will be revealed on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Monday night. The talk show airs on weeknights at 12 a.m. ET.

Womack famously stirred controversy in 2007 during his first time on the series, when he rejected both finalists, Jenni Croft and DeAnna Pappas, on the season 11 finale. Womack told OnTheRedCarpet.com recently that it has been so long since he's seen the woman he chose in the finale, that he's not even sure if there's still a relationship.

Check out spoilers below on what viewers can expect on the finale of the 15th season of "The Bachelor."

On the episode, Womack's family meets his final two contestants. O'Brien tells him that she has learned from her divorce and is certain that Womack is the man for her and that she is ready to marry him, according to ABC. Maynard tells them about how her ex-fiance died in a plane crash and Womack's family is concerned that he may not be ready to step into fatherhood.

Womack goes on a final date with O'Brien - swimming in shark-infested waters. He takes Maynard on a helicopter ride over Cape Town and is taken by surprise when she asks him if he is ready to be a father to her daughter.

Also on the episode, three couples who met on "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" talk about their relationships - the pairs are Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez, Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney and Trista and Ryan Sutter.
