Jobless IE father wins free steaks for a year

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif.

David Jimenez won a year's worth of steaks in a national contest by Sizzler restaurants. There were 160,000 entries in the "Free Steak for a Year Sweep-steaks."

He was laid off in 2009 from his job selling and installing automatic doors at hospitals and businesses. His family has been living off his retirement savings, unemployment checks and his school teacher wife's salary.

According to the San Bernardino County Sun, the 37-year-old Rancho Cucamonga father is feeling less financial strain after winning the contest.

Jimenez, who recently got his real estate license, got Sizzler gift cards worth $650.
