The dolphin was playing alongside the boat and then just jumped in. The 600 to 700-pound dolphin fell on one passenger's feet, spraining her ankle. No one else was hurt.
The challenge was getting the dolphin off the boat. Ten men tried to lift the dolphin, but to no avail. Finally ropes, towels and a backboard seemed to do the trick.
"He actually seemed, in my opinion, that he knew what was wrong," said one of the passengers. "He knew he made a mistake by entering the vessel, he shouldn't be there, and he just relaxed and let us do our thing- get him back out to his surroundings."
The dolphin did have a few minor scrapes, but swam away with no problems.
