Eminem has become the first person to hit 30 million likes on Facebook and is the most popular person on the social networking site, dead or alive.
The rapper has surpassed Lady Gaga as the most popular living artist as well as Michael Jackson as the most popular person on the social networking site ever, according to Famecount.com.
The Detroit born lyricist claimed the title last week after he surpassed Jackson, who was the top person on the site with over 29.9 million fans. At the time of this writing, Eminem has over 30.4 million people liking his Facebook page, which is more than the entire populations of Australia and New Zealand combined.
OnTheRedCarpet.com contacted the Facebook to confirm the statistics but, according to a spokesperson, the site does not publicly share growth statistics for pages.
The feat is impressive considering that just a year ago the rapper's Facebook page had just 2.7 million likes.
Back in July, Lady Gaga achieved a new record on Facebook becoming the first living person to have more than 10 million likes on the social networking site.
Currently, the pop diva is hot on Eminem's heels with 30.2 million likes, while Justin Bieber has 23.1 million. However, Famecount.com says that Eminem really needs to watch out for Rihanna, who has the fastest growing page on the site. The singer currently has 26.5 million likes.
Eminem's return to music was a huge success story of 2010 and now the rapper has another win under his belt: the best-selling album of 2010. The rapper's "Recovery" album sold moved 3.4 million units since its June release, reports the Associated Press which quotes Nielsen SoundScan. He also won two Grammy awards in February.
