Po the panda cub makes his public debut at Zoo Atlanta

ATLANTA

The /*giant panda cub*/, the only one born at a U.S. zoo last year, had been in seclusion with mother Lun Lun until the last couple of weeks.

Zoo officials say Po is doing well and weighs about 15 pounds.

Visitors will now be able to see the cub on most mornings in the panda play pen with his mother and big brother Xi Lan.

Po was born in November and is the third panda cub for Atlanta. Only four U.S. zoos have giant pandas, which are leased from China: Atlanta, Memphis, San Diego and Washington D.C.

Zoo Atlanta held a naming ceremony for the cub last month, giving him the name Po after the main character in the animated hit "Kung Fu Panda."
