Some lyrics in Lady Gaga's song "Born This Way" have been banned on Malaysian radio stations because they may be "considered offensive."

The main private radio operator in the Muslim-majority country said it's being cautious since the song encourages public acceptance of gays, according to the Associated Press.

"The particular lyrics in 'Born This Way' may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia's social and religious observances," AMP Radio Networks said in a statement. "The issue of being gay, lesbian or (bisexual) is still considered as a 'taboo' by general Malaysians."

The stations that play the song edit out the lyrics, "No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I'm on the right track, baby."

Lady Gaga, 24, released the track, which is currently No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, in early February and premiered its music video on February 28.

On Saturday, Lady Gaga surprised some fans and a few drag queens at a Louisville, Ky. club when she joined a Lady Gaga impersonator on stage to sing "Born This Way."
