A 23-year-old Hesperia man and his mother were arrested in connection with a residential burglary involving a stove.

San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies responded to a residential burglary on the 7600 block of Alston Avenue on Saturday. During the investigation, officials learned that a stove was stolen from that home and possibly taken to an apartment complex in the 16700 block of Lime Street.

When deputies arrived at that location, the stolen stove was located in the garage of the complex. Authorities found the suspect, Andrew Dement, hiding in a closet. He was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property and a parole violation. He was on parole for a prior theft case.

Dement's mother, 47-year-old Kimberly Dement, knew about her son's criminal activity and was also arrested for possession of stolen property.

Both were booked at the Victor Valley Detention Center.
