OTRC: Sylvester Stallone to launch fashion line inspired by 'Rocky' and 'Rambo'

Sylvester Stallone plans to launch a men's clothing line inspired by his hit action films "Rocky" and "Rambo."

The collection will be released in 2012 and marketed towards men aged 25 to 40, Men's Week reported.

"I thought the time is now," Stallone, 64, told the fashion news outlet. "I've lived a life where I know what has worked and what hasn't worked. Clothing is the first step to building a character. I really believe I have an understanding of the male psyche on all levels.

Stallone said he became "truly involved in style" in the mid-1980s, after he filmed "Rambo 2." During the time, he dropped from 185 to 160 pounds and began buying custom-made clothes because nothing else fit well, Men's Week said. He then began working with tailors in Italy and the United States.

"I want clothing that will be appropriate to my generation or the generation before,"Stallone said. "This is a brand for a guy's guy."

The line will include jeans, shirts, underwear, watches and jackets and offer looks for "the rebel and the gentlemen," said Michael Henry, co-owner and president of Sly, Inc.

"Rocky at the end of the day is a love story," Henry said. "Rambo showcases the other side of masculinity, he's a loner."

Stallone has played John Rambo in four movies, starting from "First Blood" in 1982 up until "Rambo" in 2008. He has played boxer Rocky Balboa in six movies, the first of which was released in 1976. The most recent film hit theaters in 2006.
