The "Jersey Shore" cast continues to be a hit for MTV as the reality show earned its highest rated season finale ever on Thursday.

The cast's antics at Seaside Heights, New Jersey, secured its highest-rated season finale yet and nabbed 7.6 million viewers, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The viewer turnout topped the show's previous season finales which earned 5.7 million in season 2 and 2.6 million in the first season finale.

The popular reality series' viewership is up 35 percent from its second season average and 196 percent from its first season.

The series depicts a group of party-loving, self-proclaimed "Guidos and Guidettes" and its third season premiere, which aired on January 8, was watched by more than 8.4 million people, marking the cable network's most watched series telecast.

It was announced in January that the show would return for a fourth season, to be filmed in Italy in the spring and will air later this year.

Vinny Guadagnino is the only cast-member who speaks any Italian, so MTV gave everyone a lesson with some of their most-used phrases, including 'fishio di granata' which translates to grenade whistle, which will presumably be useful for warning each other and 'palestra, lavenderia, tintarella' which translates to 'gym, tan, laundry' which are the Jersey boys favorite daily activities. In December, MTV announced that it signed a deal with DelVecchio to star in his own spin-off series.

495 Productions, which produces "Jersey Shore", shot a pilot for DelVecchio's new show in September.
