Josh Duhamel says he worked out three times a day for a week to prepare for a 2-mile charity run aimed at raising funds to help American Red Cross' relief efforts in Japan following its deadly tsunami and earthquake.
On Sunday, March 27, the 38-year-old actor hosted the event, which was attended by his wife Fergie, a singer for the Black Eyed Peas, as well as "Glee" actress Dianna Agron and socialites Paris and Nicky Hilton.
"I'm in horrible shape," he joked to OnTheRedCarpet.com, adding that he worked out three times a day for a week "just to prep for this."
In January 2010, Duhamel, a member of Red Cross' national Celebrity Cabinet, organized a similar run for victims of Haiti's earthquake and raised over $100,000 with 2,500 runners in attendance.
Gwen Stefani of the rock and ska band No Doubt and actress Sandra Bullock recently donated $1 million each to help relief efforts in Japan.
Duhamel has appeared in movies such as "When in Rome," "The Romantics" and "Transformers" and most recently starred in the comedy "Life As We Know It" with Katherine Heigl.
He is currently working on the film "New Year's Eve," which stars Megan Fox and "Mad Men" actor Jon Hamm. Duhamel also recently shot "Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon," reprising his role as William Lennox from the first two films. The previous movies also starred Fox but the actress does not appear in the third installment, which is due to hit theaters on July 1.
