The walnut may be the best nut for heart health due to its antioxidant content, according to a researcher.

A scientist from the University of Scranton said walnuts have more antioxidants and better quality antioxidants than other nuts.

Antioxidants protect cells against damage caused by free radicals. That damage can play a factor in heart disease and other health problems.

Though the walnut industry funded two of the researcher's studies, he says the industry did not have a say in the study.
