Vanessa Hudgens recently attended a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game with Josh Hutcherson, fueling speculation the two are dating following her split from actor Zac Efron.
Hudgens, 22, and Hutcherson, 18, who co-starred with her in the upcoming film "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island," have remained mum on the nature of their relationship. In recent weeks, the two have attended several star-studded events together, including the premiere of her movie "Beastly" and the Independent Spirit Awards.
In addition to the Lakers game, Hudgens and Hutcherson checked out a private Palazzo Las Vegas and Jimmy Choo-sponsored shopping event at Staples Center, where the team plays, and posed for pictures, obtained by OnTheRedCarpet.com.
Others in attendance included Charlie Sheen's estranged wife Brooke Mueller, "Desperate Housewives" actress Teri Hatcher, "Entourage" actor Jeremy Piven and "Dancing With the Stars" contestants Ralph Macchio of "The Karate Kid" and his partner Karina Smirnoff.
Hutcherson "followed Hudgens around for much of the time she shopped," People magazine reported, quoting a witness as saying: "They were all smiles and adorable all evening."
"Yes, I'm single," Hudgens told Ellen Degeneres on her talk show last week, when asked about Hutcherson. "Can't a girl have friends?"
Hudgens and Efron, 23, played a couple in the 2006 Disney Channel movie "High School Musical" and dated for five years. It was reported in December 2010 that they broke up and the actress said in February that the two were "figuring things out." Hudgens told DeGeneres last week that she and Efron remain friends.
"Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" is set for release on September 23 and also stars Kristin Davis of "Sex and the City" and Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson. Hutcherson has also appeared in movies such as "The Kids Are All Right" and recently filmed a part in the upcoming remake of the hit 1980s war movie "Red Dawn."
