Sara Ramirez who plays Dr. Callie Torres on "Grey's Anatomy," is scheduled to sing on the March 31 episode of the hit ABC show, reports People magazine.

The episode, dubbed "Grey's Anatomy: The Music Event," will be an extended musical fantasy played out in Callie Torres' head and will include songs that should already be familiar to fans of the show, including The Fray's "How to Save a Life," Snow Patrol's "Chasing Cars" and Brandi Carlile's "The Story." Check out the spoilers of what to expect in the musical episode below.

Also singing on the show will be cast-members Kevin McKidd, Chandra Wilson and Chyler Leigh.

"I sing a little bit," McKidd told People. "I'm not like Sara Ramirez - she's pretty amazing! I mean, off the chart. She's a Tony Award winner for a reason, and the rest of us bask in her shadow. Chyler is a great singer, Chandra Wilson's a great singer, and I can get away with it, let's put it that way. I'll let people judge what they think."

Ramirez won a 'Best Featured Actress in a Musical' Tony in 2005 for her portrayal of the original Lady of the Lake in the Broadway production of "Spamalot."

Patrick "McDreamy" Dempsey was adamant about not singing, but is fully supportive of his more vocally-talented co-stars. "It was an opportunity, I think, for some of the cast members to really show their talents musically," Patrick Dempsey told People. "And it's really quite moving when you hear Sara's voice and Kevin's voice. Even Justin Chambers sings beautifully, and Eric Dane does a great job. So it's really nice to see them have a moment to shine in a different way and hopefully entertain the fans and keep it fresh."

Ramirez, who has starred in "Grey's Anatomy" since 2006, has released two albums, "Silent Night" in 2009 and "Sara Ramirez" on iTunes on March 27, 2011. Her new 4-song EP reportedly includes three original songs as well as a recording of the song she'll perform on Thursday's episode, "The Story."

Thursday's musical episode will be the first time the actress has performed on the show, but she provided a cappella vocals to "Silent Night" on the soundtrack's sixth season episode "Holidaze."
