A search is under way for a man who exposed himself to a student while she was walking home from school in Torrance.

The victim and her friend were on their way home from Calle Mayor Middle School on March 23 when they saw a car come to rest at a stop sign at the intersection of Sharynne Lane and Dennis Road.

The victim noticed the vehicle because it paused at the stop sign for approximately one minute.

When the victim looked at the driver through the open front window, the suspect smiled without saying a word. The victim then noticed that the suspect was not wearing any clothes below the waist.

The suspect then drove away, after which the victim and her friend ran onto the grounds of nearby Seaside Elementary School because they were scared.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic man in his mid 30s with medium to dark complexion, short, spiky, black hair, brown eyes and a medium build.

The car driven by the suspect is described as a silver, older model sedan.
