Man standing too close to edge hit by Blue Line train in Long Beach

LONG BEACH, Calif.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the accident at Pacific Coast Highway and Long Beach Boulevard at 11:14 a.m.

According to witnesses, the 34-year-old man was standing too close to the edge of the platform when he was struck by a southbound train. The victim sustained injuries to his head and was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

Paramedics also treated a 64-year-old man at the scene who was having a seizure from an anxiety attack.
