Man standing too close to edge hit by Blue Line train in Long Beach

Authorities said a man who was standing too close to the edge was hit by a Blue Line train in Long Beach on Friday.

Authorities said a man who was standing too close to the edge was hit by a Blue Line train in Long Beach on Friday.

The Long Beach Fire Department responded to the accident at Pacific Coast Highway and Long Beach Boulevard at 11:14 a.m.

According to witnesses, the 34-year-old man was standing too close to the edge of the platform when he was struck by a southbound train. The victim sustained injuries to his head and was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition.

Paramedics also treated a 64-year-old man at the scene who was having a seizure from an anxiety attack.
