Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland fame is set to perform a duet with R&B singer Rihanna at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday.
The singer spoke to ACM presenter Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show on Friday about the upcoming performance. "We are just big fans of each other, and so we wanted to do something that was fun and different and fresh," Nettles said. "I reached out to her and said 'Hey, anything you wanna do?' and she [Rihanna] said 'I have this song that specifically I want to do with you.'"
The two women will perform a ballad off of Rihanna's latest album "Loud" called "California King Bed."
"It's the first time, obviously, Lady Ri and I have ever sung together," Nettles said. "And the first time this song will be sung live, so we are thrilled!"
The ACM awards will also have a few big names presenting at the ceremony including, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson and Seacrest. The show will be hosted by Reba McEntire and Blake Shelton and will feature performances by Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride and the Zac Brown Band with James Taylor.
