Ventura man killed in apparent hit-and-run

VENTURA, Calif.

Police received a call about a body found in an alley west of Poli and Fir streets at about 6:45 a.m.

Officials said the victim, a 24-year-old man from Ventura, suffered severe trauma to his head and body.

Ventura Police arrested Ventura resident Robert Jack Bell, 36, Sunday afternoon. Bell was allegedly driving the vehicle that killed the victim. It was determined that alcohol was involved in the incident.

Bell was booked into Ventura County Jail on charges of vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run.

The victim was identified as Ventura resident Ryan Tremearme, 24.

Authorities believe the hit-and-run collision occurred between 2:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.
