Obama to visit SoCal for fundraiser in Culver City

CULVER CITY, Calif.

Obama is set to appear at a fundraiser at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City on April 21.

Obama officially announced his 2012 election bid on Monday with a video on the website BarackObama.com.

The trip will be Obama's sixth to the Los Angeles area since being elected president.

Tickets for the local fundraiser can be purchased on the website. General admission costs $250, but tickets for people younger than 40 cost $100.

No Republicans have officially announced they are running in 2012, but the GOP released an Internet video to spur fundraising on the website hopeisnthiring.com.

"It's official -- President Obama's re-election campaign is off and running, meaning once again, the president is putting politics ahead of the work of the people," Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said.
