A wild 20-mile chase in North Carolina ended the hard way.
Two suspects in a stolen Jeep sped up to a roadblock made up of sheriff's department squad cars, but they would not surrender.
They veered off the road and raced across a field as deputies opened fire.
The deputies then took off in hot pursuit.
The gunfire had flattened the Jeep's tires and it stopped a short distance down the road.
The two suspects were taken into custody, one with a minor wound.
They are suspected of three home invasions and four vehicle thefts.
