Britney Spears' newest album "Femme Fatale," which dropped last week has taken the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart, Billboard reports.

"Femme Fatale has sold 276,000 copies in its first week, tying the pop star for third place for the female performer with the most No. 1 records, the other two tied for third are Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson. Madonna and Barbra Streisand are the only female vocalists ahead, with seven and nine No. 1 albums, respectively.

The only Spears album not to top the charts, was her 2007 effort, "Blackout," which peaked at No. 2.

The music video for Spears' second single, "Till the World Ends," premiered on Wednesday, April 6. The song was co-written by Ke$ha and produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Billboard. The video was directed by Ray Kay and it was revealed that there will be two different versions of the video, a director's cut with an apocalyptic storyline and a "choreography cut," which will showcase the pop star's dance moves.

"I feel like I've done so many videos, I'm at the point I want to enjoy myself," Spears said on her MTV special, "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale."

Rap star Nicki Minaj will reportedly join Spears on her summer Femme Fatale tour since Enrique Iglesias announced he would not be joining her last week, according to entertainment site JustJared.com.

The 29-year-old pop star premiered her new music video "Hold It Against Me" in mid-February. The song, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 Singles Chart, is the lead single off of "Femme Fatale."

The album also features a song called "The Big Fat Bass," which was recorded with will.i.am of the hip hop group the Black Eyed Peas. Will.i.am posted a snippet of the track on his blog.
