Laguna Beach skateboarders have new rules to follow

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif.

The debate has been underway for almost a year. Some residents wanted a total skateboarding ban on steep streets.

A compromise was reached. It calls for sections of eight narrow streets to be closed to skateboarders. Also, skateboarders will be limited to 25 miles an hour.

They must also stay to the right, and stop for stop signs. Skateboarding will no longer be allowed at night.
