Michael Moloney is just one part of the tear-jerking team that changes countless lives, and makes millions of viewers cry each season on 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.'
And this weekend, he and his team are asking for your help out at the first ever Reality Rocks Expo.
"We're going to be doing something for Habitat for Humanity, building bird houses where the fans can come and work with us, and then they'll be able to sell those in their shop and give back," he said. "We're going to do some murals that'll go to hospitals in Africa, just all kinds of different community based projects, so just the general public can come in and get their hands dirty and work with us, and see what it's really like."
He went on to share why he thinks the show is such a hit with fans, "I think the country needs to see good things happening to good people. Kids love our show, we give parents an opportunity to sit down with their kids and teach them values and philanthropy, and we're making philanthropy hip for kids, I think it's the right thing at the right time."
"We've helped amazing families everywhere we go. It's not just a job, it's beyond that," he added.
And that's not the only reason people watch, "One of the great things about the show is that we travel the entire country. Two of my favorites were, one was in Hawaii and one was in Alaska," he said. "We've had so much fun, I mean this last year I got to work with Mariah Carey, how awesome was that just days before she announced that she was pregnant."
He also spilled on a surprise coming up on the show. "What's really exciting is on Mother's Day. We have an awesome special coming up it's a Mother's Day Special," he said. "They surprised me with someone pretty special, my mom. It was awesome she was my guest for the week. It was fun, Jillian's mom was there, and my mom was there, and they hung out and played scrabble when we were shooting. It was really special though for our moms to be there and really see what we go through week after week, and they got in and got their hands dirty too."
Moloney's also happy with newest team member, Jillian Harris. "She is so much fun, she doesn't stop," he said. "She has more energy than we need, but I guess that's what it takes to build a house in seven days. I actually think she has been an awesome addition. We're good friends."
