Several other actresses have played Roxie in the musical, which is currently in its 15th year on Broadway, including Brooke Shields, Marilu Henner, Ashlee Simpson, Michelle Williams (of Destiny's Child), Melanie Griffith and Renee Zellweger in the 2002 film adaptation. The 57-year-old made her acting debut in 1983 in "National Lampoon's Vacation" with Chevy Chase. She also appeared in its 1997 sequel, "Vegas Vacation." She also appeared in her ex-husband Billy Joel's 1983 music video for "Uptown Girl." Brinkley has also made appearances on NBC's "Mad About You" and hosted Lifetime Network's "InStyle Celebrity Weddings."

For her role in "Chicago," Brinkley sought advice from Joel, who helped with the model's projection and taught her to protect her vocal chords. Brinkley was married to Joel from 1985 until 1994, their daughter Alexa Ray Joel is a singer/songwriter and became a Prell shampoo model in 2010.

Brinkley has been married four times, to artist Jean-Fran?ois Allaux, Billy Joel, real estate developer Richard Taubman and most recently to architect Peter Halsey Cook. Brinkley and Cook finalized their divorce in October 2008.
