Man w/felony warrants caught at Ventura motel

VENTURA, Calif.

Ventura police officers received information that 31-year-old Edward Duke was staying at the Motel 6 at 2145 Harbor Blvd. at about 7 p.m. Saturday.

Duke refused orders to come out of the motel room and barricaded himself in the bathroom.

At that point, an officer with his K9 partner entered the room and took Duke into custody by using a Taser.

He sustained minor injuries, including a dog bite, and was taken to an area hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries.

He was booked a the Ventura County Jail for resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance and felony warrants.
