Natalie Portman is due to give birth later this year and is finding support in fiance Benjamin Millepied and her parents, adding that she is "embracing the mystery" that every day will bring.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old actress can sit back and relax, having recently completed three films - "Black Swan," the 2010 ballet thriller that co-starred Millepied, 33, and won her an Oscar, the winter movie "No Strings Attached," which allowed her to hop into bed with Ashton Kutcher and "Your Highness," her latest movie and an R-rated fantasy comedy that sees her play a sexy warrior.
Portman announced in December 2010 that she is expecting her first child with Millepied, a ballet dancer. They have not specified the gender of the baby.
"The nice thing is that you'll never be ready and it makes you accept the unknown in a whole new way," Portman told OnTheRedCarpet.com host Chris Balish and other reporters via satellite. "I just have no idea what's coming and I'm sort of embracing the mystery that every day will bring."
"Luckily, I have my parents right by me and obviously my fiance," she said. "But my parents have obviously been through having a child before and were wonderful parents, so they're a great resource for 'What does it all mean?'"
The Israeli-born actress' father, Avner Hershlag, is a gynecologist and obstetrician in New York who specializes in fertility and reproductive disorders.
"It's important when you have a person inside of you to still try and be healthy, enjoy yourself always, but I'm still trying to keep moving and eat healthily, to a certain extent, with my share of ice cream and dessert and everything, but still, give the right amount of nutrients to this person growing inside of me," Portman said.
Portman has not announced a due date but stayed in New York and did not join her "Your Highness" co-stars James Franco and Danny McBride during their press interviews in Los Angeles earlier this month to promote the film, which was released on Friday, April 8.
Portman has also not announced when she and Millepied plan to wed, saying: "We're engaged and we will make it known when we do get married."
