An LAPD bomb squad was called to a storage facility in Mission Hills Tuesday afternoon because of a suspicious device.

The area around the US Storage facility, near Brand Blvd. and Columbus Ave., was evacuated as a safety precaution.

A person purchased items from an auction at the storage facility. Going through the items, the person found an item that raised concerns.

LAPD officers were called, and they determined a bomb squad should be summoned.

A mobile robot was deployed by the bomb squad on scene.

The parameters of the evacuation were not immediately released.

Police determined the item was a type of power source, but did not further elaborate. The scene was subsequently cleared.
