Frank McCourt sued by law firm he hired

LOS ANGELES

McCourt used that document to argue he was the sole owner of the Dodgers, but a judge threw out the agreement, clearing the way for Jamie McCourt to seek half the team.

The Massachusetts-based law firm Bingham McCutchen says Frank McCourt has publicly blamed it for the way it drafted the document, and it wants a declaration saying it is not responsible for causing McCourt any loss.

A spokesman for McCourt Tuesday said: "Bingham McCutchen drafted an agreement the court found did not comply with applicable California law and was invalid because of the conduct of the Bingham firm's lawyers. Mr. McCourt is disappointed that the Bingham firm is unwilling to accept responsibility for its actions."
