Michelle Williams might be rekindling a romance with her old flame, director Spike Jonze according a report by the Daily Mail.
Jonze, who dated Williams from 2008 to 2009, reportedly asked Williams out to the final show of LCD Sound System in New York City earlier this month. Though neither Williams nor Jonze have confirmed the reports, the Daily Mail cites a source who says that the two are taking things slowly.
"'They are making a tentative go of their relationship again but Michelle is nervous. Spike broke her heart the first time around," the source tell the UK news outlet.
Williams commented on her romance with Jonze back in an October 2009 issue of Vogue magazine.
"The timing was impossible," she said about her relationship with Jonze, which occurred after the death of her fiancé Heath Ledger. "I thought falling in love again was the only thing that was going to save me from the pain. This erroneous idea: It just makes things more complicated."
Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment in 2008, months after he and Williams broke up after a three-year relationship and after he filmed his chilling role as the Joker in the Batman film "The Dark Knight". He died of an accidental overdose of prescription medication.
She and Ledger starred together in the 2005 movie "Brokeback Mountain", which earned her an Oscar nomination. Williams said they fell in love on the set.
Williams said during an interview with "Nightline" in 2010 that she is "sad to be moving further and further away" from the death of Heath Ledger, her ex-boyfriend and father of 5-year-old daughter Matilda.
