Michelle Obama will appear on "The Gayle King Show" on Oprah Winfrey's OWN network on Tuesday, April 19, reports The Wrap.
The First Lady will reportedly discuss issues involving military families on the new talk show. On Thursday, Obama urged U.S. companies to recruit and hire members of the military and their spouses in part of a "Joining Forces" effort to boost support for U.S. service members and their families.
Gayle King is Oprah's best friend and also acts as editor-at-large for O, The Oprah Magazine. In 1997, King was offered a syndicated talk show of the same name, which was canceled due to low ratings. Her new show premiered the first week of 2011.
In 2006, King started a talk show on XM Satellite Radio, also called "The Gayle King Show."
Obama will also appear with President Barack Obama on one of the final episodes of "The Oprah Winfrey Show," on May 2, reports Entertainment Weekly. Winfrey has been a long-time supporter of the President and the appearance could potentially boost ratings for both parties. Oprah's final episode will air on May 25.
Michelle Obama's appearance on "The Gayle King Show" will air at 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday, April 19 on OWN.
