Miley Cyrus says that she feels more comfortable playing outside of the United States because her American fans don't show her "the most love."
"I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don't know if they want me to tour or not. Right now I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love and Australia and South America have done that for me," Cyrus said in an interview with the Associated Press. "Kind of going to the places where I get the most love. Don't want to go anywhere where I don't feel completely comfortable with it."
Cyrus, who starred in the popular Disney show "Hannah Montana," will embark on her Gypsy Heart tour of South America and Australia on April 27, to promote her most recent album, "Can't Be Tamed." The trip will be the singer's first venture into South America, but she admits she won't have an easy time communicating with her fans there.
"I speak zero Spanish," Cyrus said. "I actually failed Spanish so I will have someone with me making sure I can get through my way."
The pop star recently released her single, a cover of Poison's "Every Rose Has Its Thorn" in Australia and said she was excited to sing it their live. Cyrus will not be releasing the song in the United States, however and has no plans to tour in her native country.
Cyrus' parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus announced their plans to end their 17-year marriage in October and as previously reported in February, the country singer said that "Hannah Montana," the show that made Miley a star and brought Billy Ray back to relevence, had "destroyed" his family.
In March, Billy Ray announced on "The View" that the couple had dropped divorce proceedings and were working on putting their family "back together."
"I think it's good, especially when you go on the road. You have to make sure everyone is happy before you start traveling, you're away. My family is good. They are stoked for tour. As long as I'm happy they are happy," Cyrus said told the Associated Press on Thursday.
