An underground electrical explosion left a Los Angeles neighborhood without power and left a hole in the street.

The explosion happened at about 9 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Culver Boulevard and Centinela Avenue.

Heat and pressure apparently caused the explosion that blew a manhole cover.

The cover popped from the elevated pressure and heat. Two vehicles did have some tire damage from the explosion, but no one was hurt.

It was not known how long the area was without power.
