Man arrested for molesting autistic child in San Fernando Valley

LOS ANGELES

Since May 2008, Jeremy Shawn Stockton has worked as an in-home caregiver for Wellspring, an agency that specializes in behavioral intervention for kids with autism.

Before that, the 29-year-old worked at Ulysses S. Grant High School in Van Nuys as a special-education trainee. In 2009, he worked with developmentally disabled children at the YMCA in La Canada, and then at the Valley Therapeutic Recreation Center in North Hollywood.

"Our investigation has information that leads us to believe that there are more victims, or there could be more victims out there," said LAPD Detective Michael Brox. "He has access, he's worked in the field for a number of years. He's associated with some other organizations around Southern California."

Police say they do not know how many homes Stockton has attended to in his work.

If you have information about Stockton, you're asked to call the Los Angeles Police Dept. at (877) LAPD-24-7.
