Evan Rachel Wood, who stars in the HBO miniseries "Mildred Pierce" as well as the TV series "True Blood," gave a revealing interview to Esquire magazine for the May issue.
In it she explains that when she dates she is "up for anything. Meet a nice guy, meet a nice girl..."
When pressed by the interviewer if she dates women, Wood answered "Yes."
The 23-year-old says when she's in a relationship with a woman "I'm more kind of like the guy when it comes to girls. I'm the dominant one." She adds, "I'm opening the doors, I'm buying dinner. Yeah, I'm romantic."
Wood has played a few characters with variety of sexual preferences. In "Once and Again" she played the young lesbian Jessie while on "True Blood" she plays the bisexual Sophie-Anne, Queen of Louisiana.
As for her relationships with men, the actress has been seen publicly with a few male stars including Jamie Bell, Shane West and Alexander Skarsgard.
It was her relationship with rocker Marilyn Manson that was the most high profile. Manson, 42, and Wood dated between 2006 and 2008, after which she reportedly pursued a relationship with West. Manson and Wood reconciled around late 2009. In January 2010 he proposed to her during a stage performance in Paris. However, the couple broke up in August 2010. Wood says about the public reaction, "I think one of the things that freaked people out so much is that we looked so different."
The actress says, "I think I'm a little controversial?" She adds, "I just try and keep some mystery, so hopefully people can't really put their finger on it."
Wood recently said that Kate Winslet helped her film a full-frontal nude scene for "Mildred Pierce."
"She coached me through my first nude scene," the actress said. "I mean, she's done it all. She was literally next to the camera going [thumbs-up]."
