Lindsay Lohan says she's honored w/ mob role

LOS ANGELES

"I'm really excited to be back on set and clear up all the misinterpretations about me and show this is what I love to do," Lohan said in an interview with the Associated Press.

John Travolta is set to play the late mob boss in "Gotti: Three Generations," and Joe Pesci will play a deputy of the "Dapper Don."

Lohan made a surprise appearance at a press conference last week and was expected to be in the running to play the elder Gotti's daughter, Victoria. By Wednesday discussions for Lohan playing that role had ended, but the actress successfully lobbied to remain on the project.

Production is scheduled to begin this fall.

Lohan still faces a felony grand theft case after a jewelry store in Venice accused her of stealing a $2,500 necklace. She is due in court for a hearing on Friday.
