Charice recently reprised her role as Sunshine Corazon on the FOX musical comedy series "Glee" but is her character, who joined a rival singing group, a spy?
Warning: Spoiler alert!
The 18-year-old singer's "Glee" character plays a high school student who was once courted by the show's main glee club, New Directions, before a rival group, Vocal Adrenaline, snapped her up. On Tuesday's episode, Corazon offered to sing at a fundraiser to help her former colleagues and demonstrated her skills again by performing a cover of "All By Myself," made famous by Eric Carmen as well as Celine Dion.
However, she ultimately did not show up at the event, fueling speculation she was ordered by her group's director to serve as a spy. When asked about her character's motives, Charice told the Wall Street Journal: "We don't know whether Sunshine is a spy like Jesse from the first season and we don't know what she's up to."
She also said she is "definitely going to do more" episodes but does not know what will happen with Corazon.
Jesse, played by Jonathan Groff, is a leading singer of Vocal Adrenaline who romanced and manipulated main character Rachel Berry.
He is set to return to "Glee" on an episode airing on May 10, according to TV Line, which also reported that Kristin Chenoweth will reprise her role as April Rhodes on a May 3 episode and that the show will see the death of "a beloved character" as well as of a "major couple" on the May 17 episode titled "Funeral."
The show's singers will compete in Nationals in New York City on a May 24 episode, the website said. FOX refuses to comment on its shows' future plots.Meanwhile, Charice is also concentrating on her music career and has released two new songs - "One Day," which was written and produced by Nick Jonas, and "Before It Explodes." She plans to drop a new album in the fall.
Contact Lenses manufacturer Acuvue is sponsoring a contest to find a co-star for upcoming music video for "One Day."
