Flights between LAX, St. Louis canceled due to storms

LOS ANGELES

The mayor of St. Louis said the city's airport is closed indefinitely after an apparent tornado tore through a section of the airport.

The storm lifted the roof off a concourse, injuring several people who ran for shelter as plate glass shattered around them. Crews are cleaning up the debris Saturday.

The following is a list of cancellations, with asterisks next to connecting flights that were still on schedule:

  • AirTran Flight 794, canceled: set to depart at 5:58 p.m. Friday and arrive in Los Angeles at 12:55 a.m. Saturday.
  • United Airlines Flight 7369, canceled: set to depart at 6 a.m. Saturday and arrive in Denver at 7:19 a.m.
  • *Connecting Flight 22, however, is set to depart Denver at 9:26 a.m. and arrive at 10:55 a.m. in Los Angeles.
  • United Airlines Flight 7369, canceled: set to depart at 6 a.m. Saturday and arrive in Denver at 7:19 a.m.
  • * Connecting Flight 894, however, is set to depart Denver at 10:04 a.m. and arriving at 11:35 a.m. in Los Angeles.
  • United Airlines Flight 7724, canceled: set to depart at 6:10 a.m. and arrive in Chicago at 7:13 a.m.
  • *Connecting Flight 842, however, set to depart Chicago at 7:58 a.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 10:25 a.m.
  • *Connecting Flight 89, set to depart Chicago at 8:57 a.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 11:32 a.m.
  • *Connecting Flight 531, set to depart Chicago at 10:05 a.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 12:40 p.m.
