LeAnn Rimes, 28, and Eddie Cibrian, 37, got married in an intimate ceremony on Friday, the country star confirmed on her Twitter account on Saturday morning.
"Eddie and I are overwhelmed by the amount of lovely well wishes," Rimes wrote on Twitter on Saturday morning. "We are blessed and.... I'm Mrs. Cibrian!!!!! So wonderful to wake up as husband and wife. Love to all of you."
The bride's spokesperson told People magazine that Rimes wore a Reem Acra gown and exchanged personalized vows with the actor in front of about 40 guests at a private home in California. Friends and family, including Cibrian's sons Mason, 7, and Jake, 4, from his previous marriage were led to believe they were attending an engagement party.
"LeAnn and Eddie were happily married today surrounded by their closest family and friends," the bride's spokesman told People. "They thank everyone for their well wishes."
Last month, Rimes ended a Twitter battle between herself and Cibrian's ex-wife Brandi Glanville after fans and cyber bullies got involved with the women's feud.
In February, Glanville Tweeted to Rimes, "I told Eddie to please tell you that I think it is highly inappropriate for you to sing in my sons class on Friday. Boundries!! [sic]"
The two women have had bad blood since Rimes and Cibrian went public with their romance back in 2009 after falling in love on the set of the Lifetime movie, "Northern Lights." At the time, Cibrian was still married to Glanville while Rimes was married to Dean Sheremet. Rimes and Sheremet divorced in June 2010 while Cibrian and Glanville finalized their divorce in October 2010.
The couple moved in together over the summer and got engaged in December when Cibrian proposed with a 5-carat diamond ring.
Rimes has taken to her Twitter page before in her battles with the media including defending her slimmer figure and denying that she and Cibrian were planning to do a reality show together.
