The additions make the Nook work more like a tablet computer similar to an iPad.
The Nook runs Google's Android software, but it can't use standard android apps. Barnes & Noble is encouraging developers to create apps specifically for its nook.
There are 125 apps available for it now, including "Angry Birds" and "Epicurious."
Barnes & Noble is also adding the ability to play Flash content on the Nook Color's Web browser.
The new features are available as a free software update for current Nook owners.
