OTRC: Lily Allen: 'Outrage' over royal wedding 'snub' was a joke

Lily Allen says she was joking when she said she was "outraged" over not being invited to the upcoming royal wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William.

The two are set to marry in London on Friday, April 29. The list of celebrities who are on the guest list includes singer Elton John, star couple David and Victoria Beckham and pop star Joss Stone.

"Oh my god, if I get one more tweet about not being invited to the royal wedding. IT WAS A JOKE you humourless fools, now run along," Allen, a 25-year-old British pop star, said on her Twitter page on Tuesday, April 26. "Besides I wouldn't be able to go anyway, I have a previous engagement."

One day earlier, she Tweeted: "Well, you can quote me as 'outraged', why does bloody Joss Stone get an invite and not moi? I sang at the Diana concert too!"

John, Allen and artists such as Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas, Josh Groban, Donny Osmond, Tom Jones and even "The Office" co-creator Ricky Gervais participated in a special concert at London's Wembley Stadium in July 2007 to mark what would have been the 46th birthday of Princess Diana, William's mother, who died in August 1997.

Following her death, John rereleased his single "Candle In The Wind" with new lyrics honoring Diana, who he dubbed "England's Rose."

Meanwhile, Allen is planning her own wedding to boyfriend Sam Cooper, 32. The two are set to wed on June 11 in Gloucestershire, England and Allen last month expressed her anger on Twitter at the fact that the information was leaked to the press.

Photos of her "Save The Date" cards were recently printed in UK newspapers such as The Daily Mail and The Sun.

Allen is known for pop songs such as "Smile" and "LDN" but says she has "retired from singing." She is currently concentrating on her fashion career and co-founded the Lucy in Disguise label with her sister Sarah Owen. Their store is featured in the documentary "Lily Allen: From Riches to Rags," which airs on Channel 4 in the United Kingdom.
