Paris Hilton and her boyfriend Cy Waits on Wednesday, April 27, appeared at the trial of a man accused of trying to break into her home with knives last summer.

UPDATE at 3:55 p.m. ET: Jury selection wrapped up hours earlier after 48 people were interviewed as potential jurors over the course of two days. Hilton and Waits entered the courthouse on Wednesday afternoon, Los Angeles District Attorney's Spokesperson Jane Robison told OnTheRedCarpet.com.

UPDATE at 1:30 p.m. ET: Waits was later confronted by a man as the two walked into the courthouse (see video). The suspect is James Rainford, who in January pleaded no contest to civil assault after he was arrested in October 2010 for sneaking past a security gate at Hilton's home on a bicycle, knocking on her front door and trying to fight off her security guards.

Hilton's bodyguards tackled Rainford and Hilton said her "stalker" "attacked" Waits.

Hilton and Waits are expected to testify later in the day against Nathan Parada, 31, who was arrested and charged with felony first degree burglary with a person present after security men spotted him wielding two knives outside her house in the Hollywood Hills on August 24, 2010.

He has pleaded not guilty and has no known prior link to the actress, who was inside her home with Waits at the time of the reported incident.

If convicted, Parada could face up to six years in state prison. He has been behind bars since his arrest.

Los Angeles police said at the time that the man was arrested for battery after he passed by a security post at the entrance of Hilton's gated community on a bicycle and knocked on the door of her house. They said he confronted security guards and tried to fight them off.

"So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes," Hilton wrote on her Twitter page the morning of the incident. "Cops are here arresting him."

UPDATE at 5:10 p.m. ET: Paris Hilton and Cy Waits finished testifying - check out exclusive details.
