OTRC: Pippa Middleton's Royal Wedding decorations make Palace 'shudder,' report says

Philippa Charlotte "Pippa" Middleton, Kate Middleton's sister and maid of honor is catching flack from the Palace over her post-wedding party arrangements.

The 27-year-old event organizer took time off from work to plan the Friday reception but Palace officials shuddered at her plans to place disco balls in the throne room, where a post-wedding breakfast disco is planned, reports the U.K.'s Daily Mail.

Kate's younger sister works part-time at the party planning company Table Talk and also writes an online magazine for their parents' online party supply website, Party Pieces.

The reception will be attended by 300 of Prince William and Kate's closest friends. The Prince reportedly demanded that the event be catered by his favorite spot, Mosimann's, which is owned and run by Chef Anton Mosimann. The caterer was in charge of catering the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics and they have already signed on to cater the 2012 Olympics in London.

A source told the British newspaper that Pippa's planning was called into question until William defended her.

"Pippa's choice of turning the throne room into a nightclub set-up also went down like a lead balloon with Palace aides, who tried to have it stopped," a source told the British newspaper. "But William stepped in and insisted that he wanted the evening event to be very different from the formal champagne and canap? reception being thrown by the Queen immediately after the wedding. He wants to it be very young and cool, so the old guard caved in and gave their approval."

The event will reportedly have food trucks parked in the Palace quadrangle, serving "bacon butties" (a bacon sandwich with cooked bacon between buttered bread, often with either ketchup or brown sauce) and ice cream.

Pippa is rumored to be starting her own party-planning business later this year that will branch off from her parent's successful party supply company.
