The book, tentatively titled "Past Imperfect," will feature stories from their 30-year romance and include some never-before-seen photos and documents from their life together.
The publisher, crown Archetype, calls this an "epic tale of love and heartbreak."
The memoir will also discuss O'Neal's struggles with his daughter, actress Tatum O'Neal. The two will star in a reality TV series this summer on the OWN network.
The book's due out next spring.
